The banner tells me a lot as a Rangers fan and frequent visitor of that park. Your seats were in section 133, which has the unofficial designation of the "Rangers Nation" section. The owner of the RangersNation instagram/X/fb account invited his followers to purchase tickets in that section, and for the last couple years they've been showing up in force.
Tends to be loud, rowdy and active crowd. They'll stand for entire games, bring banners like the one you were under, chant as loud as possible, and generally make themselves known however they can. The Rangers ticket site now warns that the section is "not for the timid." Haven't sat there yet, but it's on my list. And if you'd been to a mid-summer game in the other two ball parks that preceded Globe Life Field, you'd have no complaints about this one.
Thanks for the info about the section--SABR batch-bought the tickets and we had no idea we were in the Rangers Nation section. The overall the mood out there was relaxed and fun. The banner ended up being a nice surprise.
Two last Rangers notes--Captain is cool and the City Connects are really good. Captain in the City Connects was excellent.
Not possible, but on MY list would be seeing an afternoon game from the infernal bleachers at old Turnpike Stadium. I would imagine that experience changes a person forever.
I enjoyed the podcast, Paul - it provided a few more details not covered in your stories. Those are good-looking hotdogs, man! And, as a native Chicagoan I can be quite the hotdog snob.
Love to hear that, Bill. I try to save a few things in reserve for opportunities like this one. Thanks for checking it out.
The hotdog flight always has a chili dog and a southwest-inspired dog, but apparently the third dog is a surprise and varies from stand to stand inside the park. Of course, the surprise dog at our stand was a Chicago dog.
Now that’s MY kind of a triple header! Holy cow! I consider the first 2 are the main meal & the third is dessert.
Was great ‘meeting’ you Paul in YouTube. I’d like your book when it’s release. I assume Amazon will have or can I order from you with your signature if possible.
Ty Cobb was wrong in his reaction I feel but then again things were different back in them there good ole daze.
Thanks Jeff, I really appreciate that! I think everyone who is a regular here is going to LOVE the book but more on that when the time is right--I'm not letting myself talk much about it here until I actually finish it! Glad you enjoyed the Cobb story in a different format--they are fun to do!
I'm a big fan, Paul. Can't wait for the book. Thanks for joining me on YouTube again.

I love a good mystery (and Graig Nettles). Thanks for the shout out and for solving the mystery.
