Project 3.18, on the air!
Technically, we suppose we were in "a series of tubes," but that is less exciting to say
We have an impromptu change of pace today we hope you’ll enjoy…our multimedia debut!
Last week we visited our great friend Ted on
. Ted and his collaborator Adam are far smarter and more well-read than we are, but they have a soft spot (as do we all, perhaps) for a baseball riot, and as a result we spent a fun 40 minutes talking about baseball, Project 3.18-style.We also talked about our creative process, some behind-the-scenes stuff for pieces you’ve read, some writers that inspire us, and some stories and people you haven’t seen here yet but surely one day will.
We are thinking about doing more multimedia content for Project 3.18 in the future, for those of you who are washing dishes or walking dogs, or just like to listen. We’ll solicit your feedback on some ideas in due time, but we’re excited to get this first one under our belt!
What you won’t hear on this professionally-produced podcast are the 15 preceding minutes when we ran back and forth through our house in something near panic, trying to find a backup pair of headphones that worked with our computer. It was our first introduction to the unavoidable fear response when a person is forced to confront rebellious technology in a public and pressure-filled moment. We certainly came away with some additional empathy for others who find themselves in such situations. Other than some predictable ribbing from our old friend, Ted and Adam were patient and supportive and with their help we eventually got ourselves sorted.
So give this episode a listen and stick around for many more enjoyable conversations between these two charming, witty guys. You will be amused and learn things, and isn’t that what we all want at the end of the day?
As for Project 3.18, we’ll be back on Thursday with the first in our series on ejections: “Looks Like Rain.”
It was a pleasure to have you!
