lol… hard to believe the Mariners had such idiots working for them! First thing that popped into my head was George Castanza hired by them instead of NY?

Far as the bleachers go you will never find me in anyone’s! I never sat in them before but I wanted to just one time in the old Yankee Stadium before demolition. Biggest mistake of my life with a bad back. It was 9 innings of torture to say the least. But those seats in Texas… good place to get sautéed if in a day game.

You start to get a sense of why the traveling secretary is such a critical role. Clubhouse manager is important, too. I find it so weird that the Texas clubhouse manager tended to sleep on the premises when the clubhouses were filled with stuff, but he happened to leave on this night in the middle of the night and THAT's when the break-in happened. Very sus.

I would think first of the (single season) Seattle Pilots rather than the Mariners when it comes to quirky stories - Jim Bouton covered many of them in “Ball Four”. But, this visit to Arlington is a strange one - good stuff, Paul.

You might be right. I haven't read Ball Four in a long time and need to go back to it afresh. Playing in "Sicks Stadium" certainly set the tone early.
