Well done! And the Simpson's reference was a great touch!

Analyzing Mr. Burns’ All-Stars is another post all by itself. I’m sure it’s been done to death but some fascinating choices by the writing team for that episode.

Great details Paul, on a story I had read in different forms!

Truly a monumental catch! I’m surprised the ink-stained wretches at the Post missed that catchy headline.

I looked back to it and the wretches went with "Caught Baseball Thrown from Top of Monument." No sizzle, but I think they knew the subject would sell itself as long as they stayed out of the way.

Great story. I was thinking of something to do this summer but since it’s already been done I’ll have to think about it.

Thanx Paul!

“The force of the ball benumbed my hand.” That expression sounds so ‘period.’ This was outstanding, Paul. The footnote was a nice touch!

I have been guilty of editing older language for a modern audience, and "benumbed" was on the chopping block, but in the end it was too charming to pass up. Thanks for reading Meg and as always I appreciate knowing you enjoyed!

I love the older language and find it charming, too.

I missed that episode of the Simpsons. DOH!
