2,000 Volts ain’t nothing. Probably like a bee sting. When I was working on cars in order to find a ‘dead’ cylinder we used to pull plug wires - about 12KV. Working on monitors I got zonked once with 20KV. Now THAT hurt; for like 2 days. But the 2KV zap would definitely make you regret your decision to get on the field.
Probably passing out the zappers to guys on the field wouldn’t be a good idea. I can imagine them playing with one another in the dugout.
I really love that this is the direction the discussion around this particular story has taken. While our fan didn't have to worry about this, some Googling puts taser voltage around 2,000 as it circulates through the body, but it's 50,000 coming out of the device so it can get through air and clothing. More Googling says it's the low amperage that makes taser devices painful but not devastating in the way it might be if you grab the wrong 220-volt wire in your house. I wonder where some of your zaps fell on the spectrum, Jeff.

...and that kid was Jeffrey Maier's older brother. (Kidding, of course.)
In a philosophical sense he very nearly was. And a cousin to a certain Chicago fan who had no idea Moises Alou was that close.
Yep! Tasers would do it!
There's something worthy about getting tackled in the open field. Not so much when you're getting hit with 2,000 volts.
Nice, Paul, slipping George Costanza into the mix - kudos!
