Fun read Paul! Banner Day doubleheaders were so METS! I remember trying to get in line to get on the field with a banner I that was more like a ...placard! Didn't make it for whatever reason but remember only that the people waited in line forever leaving game one in the late innings and not getting back for game two until the game had been going on for awhile. It didn't seem all that sexy to me and I never bothered to try again. Wish I had.

Leaving in the fifth inning for the parade muster is a big commitment. Do you remember what you wrote on your placard?
TBH no I don't! I think I was around 11. Whatever it was, it was not impressive and I was aware of that.
In a competition where "This Sign Is In Favor of the Mets" can win, I bet you were more impressive than you recall.
