A Baseball Story
Project 3.18’s “A Baseball Story” series is the centerpiece of our work. Our Baseball Stories are long-form, well-researched tales of baseball when fans intrude into the events of the game, of the times and circumstances that prompted their transgressions, and the people who were there, in the stands, on the field, or cleaning up the messes left behind. The joy and delight of so many baseball stories is their tendency to transcend the events on the field, incorporating everything from politics and economics to pop culture and culture clash. We love to tell such Baseball Stories, and we’ll seek help from our readers in telling them. Most Baseball Stories will be drawn from baseball’s last sixty or so years, and Project 3.18 exists in order to tell these stories with the direct input of individuals who participated in this history. As the Project grows, our Baseball Stories will draw from reader ideas and contributions, which we’ll gather in our “Fan of History” pieces.
